Who is Merberry?

Meet Merberry, a young visual artist that is inspired by the world of beauty and fashion to express her own extraordinary concepts.

I am sensitive and empathetic, I think creativity is the best way to experience and convey my emotions. This is how I show love, this is how I experience grief, this is how I talk about what is important. Creativity is my voice. My voice is not for every viewer, but only for those who want to hear it and listen.

Early life and background:

From her earliest years, creativity has served as her primary means of self-expression. Surrounded by love and beauty as she grew up, she was naturally attracted to all beautiful things. During her childhood, she found this beauty encapsulated in dolls; she admired them and personally sewed clothes to adorn them. She attended art classes since childhood to improve her skills and find a mentor.

Artistic development:

As she matured her passions guided her towards the Academy of Design and Arts. Serious sewing and clothing design did not bring pleasure, but she always started drawing with great enthusiasm. In her third year of study, she encountered a new form of illustration that perfectly merged her passion for fine arts with her love for fashion and beauty. With the acquisition of an iPad, she embarked on creating her first serious fashion illustrations.

Lately I don't focus on gender, I want to use fashion or make-up as a tool for inspiration and introduce my idea. I like to take the whole image itself. The presence of non-standard face features is also a field of interest for me

Key influencers and inspiration:

Her artwork consistently revolves around captivating and fashionable imagery, drawing inspiration from fashion brands such as Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Margiela, Moral Standards, Avavav etc; and individual creators from fashion field - photograPher Nicola De Lorme, make up artists Anga Vanga, Bo Quinn etc.

Fun fact: I often like to add a dimple on the chin to the characters in my paintings. I consider the dimple to be my feature, so I leave a visual piece of myself in the picture.

Achievements and Collabs:

When she was forced to emigrate to the Czech Republic due to the attack of russian troops on Ukraine, her first collaboration with Skinz brand took place. Their interests aligned, and they created something special related to Ukrainian unity, embodied in the sexy female images of the new collection. This led to more collaborations, mainly with clothing brands like EXTRA, Tobehip, Youandme, Soulmates.you etc. Merberry acts not only as an illustrator, she is a versatile designer, depending on the project.

Current Projects and future Aspirations:

Currently, Merberry’s art is undergoing a dramatic change, introducing deeper concepts associated with self-reflection and observation. She returns to traditional materials to better live out each subject of her paintings. This will be followed by a more serious scaling of creativity, including participation in exhibitions and publications.

Through my paintings, I aim to delve deeper into the realm of reality and express profound insights. I don't intend to abandon creating simple works. Instead, they will serve as a complement to my narrative, reminding me of my enduring passion for fashion and beauty.These past couple of years have been transformative for both my personal growth and creative development, and I am eager to share my journey and discoveries with you.
